John's NETSCAPE Lesson

(Education Resources on the InterNet) This area is still under construction.

Hello. Welcome to John's Research Resources Page for Teachers. I'll be your co-pilot through this easy introduction to a handful of sites and tools that a teacher might find useful. Of course, the specific sites which are useful to you depend on the subject you teach, the method of access at your school, and just exactly what type of being you are.

This tutorial is intended to be used on a web browser, such as Netscape Navigator, while connected to the Internet...

For best results view this site with "NETSCAPE"

Now, the Internet is supposed to be simple enough so that any cat-brain can understand it. But I get lost in the "technobabble," so I've asked my friend -- Amigato -- to explain the technical stuff for you.

Ami?

Thank you, John. Now, it's really quite simple. All you have to know is a few of the functions of the computer. I suppose you have a "web browser" running, such as MOSAIC or NETSCAPE NAVIGATOR.

You can scroll down through a page by using the elevator bar, over here.

Or, if you prefer, you can use PAGE DOWN and PAGE UP on the keyboard, over there.

In NETSCAPE, you can go back to any previous page by opening the GO MENU, at the top of the screen, and selecting the name of any page you've previously visited during the current session.

In most web pages, the color BLUE is used to identify a LINK to another site. If you wish to check out a site, point to the blue "link text" and click.
Remember, when you wish to come back to this page, you can select "John's Netscape Lesson" in the GO MENU.

Also, you may find it helpful to have the Location window open at the top of the screen. In the OPTIONS menu, you may have to select SHOW LOCATION. This allows you to see the address, or, URL, of each site as it appears on the screen.

Now GO TO THE NEXT PAGE!
From here, we recommend viewing these lessons in the order shown.
