T-NYWTH (fiction)

Chris: Once again, we bring you "The News You Wanted To Hear."
Kris: The Way you wanted to hear it.
Chris: T-NYWTH -- Responsible, Good News Radio, and Good News Online We know what you want to hear.
Kris: On T-NYWTH, we bring you not just any news, not the bad news, but the news you always wanted to hear,. 'round the clock.
Chris: All news. All good news. Only good news. First the headlines.
Kris: America continues to win the "War on Terrorism." Visit our subsection, "America at War with the World," and commentary. No new terrorist attacks have occurred anywhere in the world. That makes 14 days since the last act of "terror" was committed against America and its allies.
Chris: "President" Bush scored a big success today in conflict with the United Nations over prosecution of "peacekeeping" American forces before the International World Court. Today, the United Nations Security Council agreed to exempt American "peacekeepers" from prosecution for at least one year. There was anger throughout Europe about this decision, but America warned of "serious consequences" if an American is ever brought before the World Court for participation in any activity that the U.S. government deems "peacekeeping." "President" Bush threatened to undermine the U.N. peacekeeping effort in Bosnia and other places if America was not exempted from the jurisdiction of the International Court.
Kris: Today, "president" Bush spoke of restoring consumer confidence in the American economy. Only restored confidence in America's business leaders will restore the economy to it's natural prosperity. Restoring confidence in the integrity of business leaders is "perhaps the greatest need for our economy," It appears that "prosperity" in America equates to consumer confidence in the stock market, or so it seems when one listens to a speech by our "president." Today, Bush made it plain that Americans can restore the prices of stocks and the security of the stock market if they resume consumer spending, stock buying, and home ownership.
Chris: That's right Kris. It appears that the "war" on poverty and the "war" on lack of medical care have no place in a strong economy. The administration has made it perfectly clear that what America needs most is a strong Wall Street. In the new economics, the security of Wall Street is the security of the nation.
Kris: Soldiers in Israel-Palestine today killed a Palestinian photographer who was photographing a disabled Israeli transport. This action was in response to Israeli anxiety about security in occupied territories after terrorist bombings weeks ago. America continues to support Israel in its fight against terrorism. It appears that the journalist-photographer was filming a disabled armed personnel carrier in the occupied Jenin. Israeli soldiers did not give warning before firing on the photographer who was with a group of journalists working on a story about the disabled vehicle. It appears that in the "war" on terrorism, it is not necessary to give warning. Israeli soldiers killed two others, including a 13-year-old boy, in other "clashes" in Gaza. This, too, was an act of security.
Chris: Polio virus has been synthesized as a germ warfare agent. Scientists funded by the Pentagon revealed that they have developed a germ warfare polio agent which can be synthesized in any laboratory using gene sequencing available on the web. The Pentagon funded this project to demonstrate that it is possible for terrorists to produce bioweapons.
Kris: The good news is that it is our side which has this weapon. As always, it is the United States which is the first to develop weapons of mass destruction. The Pentagon has plans to use this research to produce countermeasures in case someone else gets this weapon.
Chris: America's scientists are always the first, Kris.
Kris: That's right Chris. Why, I'd bet that in some cases, America's enemies would not have thought of these weapons if Pentagon-funded scientists in the United States did not demonstrate their feasibility.
Chris: The "president" and Congress try to outdo each other in promises to crack down on corporate crime.
Kris: After yesterday's promise from "president" Bush to pursue with vigor executive who take loans from corporations much like the loans he received several years ago from Harken, the Senate has "banned" the practice of lcorporate loans for executives in the future. The "president" has appointed a "SWAT team" to pursue these criminals.
Chris: Today's great news from Wall Street is that economists are promising, hoping, that the plunge in the stock market will end soon. After eight weeks of decline, economists are hoping for tough legislation from Congress against corporate fraud will win the confidence of investors. We all look forward to a stock market rally.
Kris: On the brighter side, the economy is expected to spring back after high risk investments were initiated to restore America's confidence in the Market.
Chris: and that's the way you wanted to hear it. Saturday, July 13, 2002.
Kris: How lucky we are, Chris, to be living in a country where Americans are free to hear the news they way they want it.
