Beth Waldow is the senpai, or senior assistant instructor at Claw of the Dragon. That's Beth on the right, brushing aside an attack at our annual summer camp.
Beth Waldow is a ranger with the National Park Service in Yosemite National Park. She is a specialist in the conservation of natural and cultural resources, as well as being a law officer and trained criminal investigator.
Beth's background includes service as a police officer and deputy sheriff at Arlington, VA, and as a ranger at multiple national parks and monuments. She maintains currency with defensive tactics and firearms, and is a PR-24 (police baton) instructor. Beth recently tested for, and received, her third-degree black belt in Shotokan karate.
In addition to her achievements in law enforcement, resource conservation, and karate, Beth is very proud of her family: husband Kevin and three energetic teenagers.
Her life goals are "To grow and learn throughout my life, to set my family as my priority and to be active in my community."
